Meet the Doctor!
Heather Kaufman, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Kaufman completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, and completed her pre-medical coursework at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA.
Her medical training was completed at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH where she received her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in 2003. She then completed four years of podiatric residency training in New York City and Hammonton, NJ.
After residency, Dr. Kaufman moved to Grand Junction, CO where she was in a private group practice for 6 ½ years. During that time, she received her Board Certification in Foot Surgery from the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS). In March, 2014, Dr. Kaufman purchased Anchorage Foot & Ankle Clinic, LLC and began seeing patients in April, 2014.
While she enjoys all aspects of podiatric practice, Dr. Kaufman particularly enjoys surgery, wound care, and diabetic limb salvage.
Dr. Kaufman is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), Colorado Podiatric Medical Association (CPMA), and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).
When she is not working, Dr. Kaufman enjoys running, hiking, camping, cycling, travel, downhill skiing, and is learning how to cross country ski. She is extremely excited about her new adventure here in Alaska and looks forward to exploring this magnificent state.
